Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital

We are a local charity benefiting local people

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Charitable Fund’s main aim is to improve patient, staff and visitor welfare at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, Cromer and District Hospital and Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital.

Whilst the NHS provides the necessities, the charity funds projects and equipment that make the hospital experience a better one for our patients, visitors and staff.

Your donations are used in many ways, such as breast pumps, toys, creating a 1950’s room for dementia patients, incubators to comfy chairs.

All donations are held in our own charity account which is separate from that of the Trust. We have strict guidelines and procedures to ensure your money is spent complimenting and enhancing the work of the NHS rather than subsidising it.

Your money helps make a difference locally. You can choose which part of the hospital – a ward or department that you can help.

How Can You Help?

Just by entering the NNUH Tour Sportive you’re already helping with proceeds from the entry coming directly to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals Charitable Fund. If you would like to do more then please have a look below for some ideas how you can help the charity even more.

What ever the distance it promises to be a challenging but rewarding experience, and we’ll support you all we can.

Your entry fee includes a donation which will be going straight to the hospital charity which will be used to benefit the many different areas across the hospital.

100 mile (£9 donation)
60 mile (£7 donation)
30 mile (£5 donation)

Every pound raised will make a difference to local patients in some way.

This year if you would like use this bike ride to raise money for your favourite NNUH ward or department from NICU, to stroke to heart to A&E – then please do so with your sponsorship money. You can do this by:

    1. Setting up a JustGiving or Virgin fundraising page by clicking here or here
    1. Get friends and family to support you by making a donation
    1. Ask your employer if they will contribute to or match the amount you raise
    1. Encourage cycling contacts and colleagues to take part
    1. Use social networks to tell everyone what you’re doing – it really is something to be very proud of

Just tell us on your sponsor form or on your online page which department you are helping – we will make sure your money will go there!

The actual ride is organised by Push Sport who organise the route, registration and support on the day. So please do get in contact with them here if you have any queries concerning the ride.

If you have any queries regarding the charity then do please contact us directly.

Organ Donation?

More than 9,000 people in the UK are waiting and hoping for a transplant to save or dramatically change their lives. Sadly three of those people will die every day before a suitable donated organ becomes available. To be a life saver join the Organ Donor Register at organdonation.nhs.uk and share your donation wishes with your loved ones as they will be asked to support your decision.
